Howdy members & friends,

The 2012 show season is in full swing and hopefully everyone is having a successful year packed with lots of good times.

The 2011 OPHC show season ended with a very large bang thanks to the 2011 December Holiday Classic show becoming the largest APHA show of the year and a fabulous New Years Eve exhibitor’s party that was packed with great food, fun, dancing, spirits, friends and family courtesy of the Oklahoma State Fairgrounds & Oklahoma Paint Horse Club.  The 2012 January Holiday Classic show kicked off the 2012 season by having over 800 entries!  The Board of Directors of the Oklahoma Paint Horse Club are busy planning an even larger and grander Holiday Classic Show for 2012-2013.   Look for updates on the web page and in newsletters as the planning continues throughout the year.  Make plans now to be a part of the show in December and January. 

The March Show in Tulsa was successful even though our exhibitors had to brave the chilly temperatures. The show was wrapped up with one lucky exhibitor, who's number was drawn at the end of the show, winning an iPod.  The announcement concluded a fun and fulfilling day with friends & family of both the 2 and 4 legged kind.

April brings the Twister season in the Midwest and a two day show in Oklahoma City.  The OPHC Twister Show was over the top with fun and laughter.   A weekend with sizable entries, fun classes, a banquet with great home style food, door prizes, and a work saddle raffle topped off the show. After the presentation of the 2011 year-end awards, more fun was had with Ride-a-Buck, Egg & Spoon Race and Egg Toss Youth fundraiser classes were offered and well attended.               

Next Upcoming Event is the August NSBA Show Your Colors show held in Tulsa.  OPHC will be sponsoring the Show on August 11& 12, 2012 and it has been approved to count towards 2012 Year-End award points.  Plan on attending the rest of the shows offered at Show Your Color circuit preceding the NSBA World Show in addition to the Paint show, too. 

We have had a great first part of the 2012 show season and are looking forward to an even greater second part. Be safe in all your travels where ever they take you.  Come and join us!
